Senate HELP Committee Revises S. 959 Draft Bill

Revisions to the S. 959 Draft Pharmacy Compounding Bill were released last Wednesday evening. Although the newly revised draft includes changes that IACP was successful in influencing (click here to view the evolution of the draft bill with IACP's input), the draft as it currently stands is still unworkable, and would negatively impact patients' access and pharmacists' ability to provide pharmacy compounds.

Please see links below to access current S. 959 revisions (please note that all of the following links are Senate documents, not IACP documents):

What is the Real Story on S. 959's Status?

There has been considerable information swirling (some accurate, some inaccurate, some pure speculation) on S. 959's status. The bill is not scheduled for a vote either yesterday or today. There are sufficient questions already being raised by Senate offices based upon the dissemination of the revised draft on Wednesday, July 24th to forestall any efforts to achieve a unanimous consent. The latest schedule for the Senate floor actions released this morning and reconfirmed does not yet list S. 959 for consideration. We will be going through all these rumors and speculations -- which unfortunately only create more confusion and uncertainty in the professional community -- during IACP's Town Hall teleconference on Sunday evening. See below article.

A CQ Roll Call article issued this week is consistent with what IACP has learned. This is a publication read routinely by Senate and House offices. Click here for the article.
