IACP Successful in Delaying TriCare Reimbursement Restrictions

Tricare, the federal health benefit program for Americans serving in the military, veterans, and their families, has recently delayed implementation of a decision to stop coverage of compounded medications. Multiple meetings with the Armed Services Committees of the House and Senate have paid off. TriCare and its contracted PBM Express Scripts have announced a 6-month "hold" on its decision to suspend reimbursement for API-based compounded medicines.
IACP believes this plan should be discarded, not simply delayed. IACP is continuing to work with key groups on this issue and will keep its members apprised of further news.
