A Message from your IACP Foundation President

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the Students' Attendance a gigantic success during the ACA IACP ACVP Educational Conference held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., February 25-28, 2015. This event was the fourth time that ACA, IACP and ACVP have joined forces. Your generosity helped us bring deserving pharmacy students to this phenomenal event. Something they will never forget!

Congratulations to Amanda Kurck, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in Little Rock, Ark., and Mary Nicole Dimaano, University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Denver, Colo., who participated in the 2015 Educational Conference Writing Competition Sponsored by ACA, IACP and ACVP. Congrats also to Kacey Adams, Cedarville University School of Pharmacy in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Derrick Waller, Regis University School of Pharmacy in Denver, Colo., who participated in the Fund-the-Future Scholarship Competition sponsored by IACP. Their winning entries guaranteed them all a trip to the Educational Conference!

This is a great opportunity for students to meet, hear and talk with compounding pharmacists. Not all medications can be manufactured commercially due to stability, and/or are unavailable because pharmaceutical firms have decided they are not a fit for their business model. Compounding pharmacy is not going to go away because patients always will need access to compounded sterile and nonsterile medications.

Thank you,

Lisa D. Ashworth, BS, RPh
