A Message from your IACP Foundation President

It's that time of year again! The IACP Foundation is gearing up for another successful Rx Mixer event. This year, we'll be getting into our finest cowboy duds and riding to Washington, DC as we celebrate our 12th Annual Rx Mixer RoundUp - Saddling Up for Research & Education!

Save the Date for Sunday, June 12, 2016 during Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) to be held in Washington, D.C., June 11 - 14, 2016. Your generosity over the years has helped to raise more than $1.8 million for the Foundation's education and research mission. The Rx Mixer Committee led by Co-chairs Erin Michael, MBA, CPhT and Richard Harwood, CPhT has set a goal to raise $205,000 at this year’s event. I know with your support, we can reach and even beat this objective.

Why is Fundraising So Important?

Since IACP’s inception in 1991, the practice of pharmacy compounding has evolved to a strong and steady presence in the pharmacy profession. In an effort to continue advancing the practice of pharmacy compounding, in early 2003, IACP established a non-profit 501(c)3 educational foundation. The IACP Foundation serves as the charitable extension of IACP and is used to conduct educational and scientific programming and research.

By helping us to raise funds, you are helping to:

•Fund innovative programs and research initiatives that enhance the quality, safety, responsiveness, and credibility of compounding pharmacy;

•Encourage curricular endorsement of the fundamental proficiencies essential to compounding pharmacists through alliances with educational institutions and accreditation bodies;

Sponsor public education programs that aspire to acquaint health care professionals and the public with the services and issues related to pharmacy compounding.

Your efforts really do make a difference! Read below how your contributions are resulting in published, peer-reviewed studies funded by IACP Foundation grants! Have you finished your holiday shopping? Check out AmazonSmile below. Your shopping can help contribute to IACP Foundation!

Thanks for getting involved, and advancing the IACP Foundation. We could not do it without you!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year!

See you at the Educational Conference in 2016!

Again. Thank you,

Lisa D. Ashworth, BS Pharm, RPh
IACP Foundation President
