A Message from your IACP Foundation President

As we prepare for another phenomenal Rx Mixer on June 7, 2015, we dramatically are reminded how important this Party with a Purpose really has become!

Did you see the awesome news media about the first-in-class nasal spray for migraine pain relief?

Funded by an IACP Foundation research grant, researchers at the Roseman University of Health Sciences, have developed a preservative-free device-driven prochlorperazine nasal spray which reportedly could prove useful in the field of pain medicine. (see more in the story below).

Over the years, the IACP Foundation is proud to have provided more than $275,000 in grants for studies of compounded preparations.

This is one of the main reasons why we all work so hard to make Rx Mixer such a successful event. And, why we ask for your contributions throughout the year so that we can continue to fund worthwhile studies that will help ensure the future of pharmacy compounding!

Thank you to our Generous Rx Mixer Sponsors

As we set the stage for another Rx Mixer, we thank our Rx Mixer Sponsors who already have stepped up to support our event. Without you, we could not enjoy the success we've had to date.

Please click here to view our generous Rx Mixer Sponsors.

There is still time to become a sponsor! Please click here to view the Rx Mixer Prospectus with all the details.

Get Involved! Make a Difference! Secure our Future!

Thank you,

Lisa D. Ashworth, BS, RPh
IACP Foundation President

11th Annual Rx Mixer Rewind: Back to the 80s Aims to Set New Fundraising Record!

Lots of blue eye shadow, acid washed jeans with popped up shirt collars, fingerless lace gloves, giant hair bows, and layers of beaded necklaces are totally tubular once again for Rewind: Back to the 80s— the theme for IACP Foundation’s 11th Annual Rx Mixer, a fundraising event to be held in conjunction with IACP’s 21st Annual Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH)!

Travel back to the place where you uttered slang phrases like “gag me with a spoon,” “like, totally,” “gnarly,” “totally tubular,” “grody,” “grody to the max,” “rad,” “awesome,” or any combination of these words excessively. If your hairdresser couldn’t stop laughing long enough to actually give you the Flock of Seagulls haircut you wanted. And, if you still know all the dance moves to “Thriller.” You know you belong to the 80s.

Our totally awesome guests will be treated to an evening of delicious food and festive cocktails, fellowship, music, dancing, Live Auction, and Big Board. Travel back to the 80s in a themed photo booth or try your luck at the blackjack and craps tables. Your support of the Rx Mixer will help fund the IACP Foundation’s research and education initiatives! Enjoy fellowship with pharmacists from around the country while benefiting the IACP Foundation. It’s a Party with a Purpose. Like totally.

Event Co-Chairmen, Erin Michael, MBA, CPhT and Richard Harwood, CPhT, with their Live Auction, and Big Board Committees, plan to raise more than $200,000 through sponsorships and the auction to benefit IACP Foundation!

Your support and involvement is crucial in raising funds for the IACP Foundation. Click here to access the Rx Mixer Prospectus with corporate sponsorships, reserved seating, and donation opportunities.

Get Involved with the Rx Mixer Committee!

One of the best volunteer gigs you've ever done. Please email iacpinfo@iacprx.org if you're interested in joining the Rx Mixer team.

IACP Foundation-Funded Study Yields First-in-Class Nasal Spray

Reported by the news media this month, researches are developing a novel prochlorperazine nasal spray formulation as a potential new treatment for migraines.

Supported by an IACP Foundation Grant, Venkata Yellepeddi, PhD, along with his colleagues from Roseman University of Health Sciences, have developed a preservative-free device-driven prochlorperazine nasal spray that could prove useful for compounding pharmacists specifically in the field of pain medicine. The work was presented earlier this month at the 2014 American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition, reportedly the world's largest pharmaceutical sciences meeting.

Your Fund-the-Future Scholarship Contribution Really Does Make a Difference

The IACP Foundation's Fund-the-Future program raises monies to bring at least 10 pharmacy students to one of the most important events in pharmacy compounding - Compounders on Capitol Hill. This year, we're also expanding the program to enable up to five students to attend the annual ACA/IACP/ACVP Educational Conference in 2015.

This competitive stipend program enables students interested in a
career in customized medication preparation and management the opportunity to learn and network from practitioners, helping identify potential opportunities for professional development and future practice.
