IACP Responds to Media Reports & Request for Information from House Energy & Commerce Committee

Last week, IACP received formal letter from the House Energy & Commerce Committee requesting documents regarding a New York Times article which alleged that the Academy, in some manner, instructed pharmacists not to comply with legitimate requests for information from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).  This surrounded suspicious activities of individuals, purporting to be with the FDA, in October 2011 who called IACP members asking for "samples" of compounded 17-P. IACP’s State Legislative Principles Announced

During an invitational Town Hall teleconference on Thursday, December 6, 2012, for its members, state pharmacy associations, and state Boards of Pharmacy, IACP's President Scott Karolchyk, MS, RPh, DNM, FIACP, and Executive Vice President & CEO David G. IACP Participated in Mass. Department of Public Health's Emergency Public Hearing

In light of the recent fungal meningitis outbreak, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) held an emergency public hearing on December 4, 2012 to discuss amendments related to the practice of pharmacy. David G. Miller, RPh, IACP Executive Vice President & CEO testified on behalf of the organization during today’s hearing.

The FDA has announced plans for a public meeting on December 19, 2012 3:00-5:00 PM EST entitled “Framework for Pharmacy Compounding: State and Federal Roles.”

Requesting NABP e-Profile ID and Birth Date!

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are now required to submit their NABP e-Profile ID and birth date to receive credit for any ACPE-accredited CPE session. The new electronic system, CPE Monitor, will now track completed CPE credits online for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Please click here to register for your NABP e-Profile ID.
