Dear Valued Member of IACP,
Many questions have been raised, understandably, about our profession, our practices, and our standards since the tragic meningitis outbreak that began last year. Those have come from both the media and from the public. IACP has been working diligently since the outset to clarify and advocate for the sometimes misunderstood compounding pharmacy profession of which you are a member.
Currently, a great deal of attention is being focused upon the new Senate bill S. 959, Pharmaceutical Compounding Quality and Accountability Act. As IACP continues to work closely with representatives of our industry, the U.S. Congress, and State Boards of Pharmacy, to find the best solutions for all, we believe it's vitally important to continue to educate audiences about the value and necessity for continued patient access to pharmacy compounded medications, while also ensuring that another NECC cannot and will not occur.
As part of that effort, we have prepared for our members another downloadable Op Ed piece designed to be customized and submitted to your local newspaper, which we believe summarizes our profession’s concerns to Protect the Public and Preserve Pharmacy Compounding.
If you need any assistance in obtaining contact information for your local newspaper or if you need help in customizing the attached draft, please contact IACP's PR Firm, David Ball or Greg Turner at Ball Consulting Group. This media assistance is part of your benefits as an IACP member.

Thank you for your efforts.
