A Message from IACP President Wade Siefert, RPh

There is a right time for everything. A time to harvest, a time to speak up, a time to heal, a time to rebuild, a time to repair, a time to work together, a time to gather, and a time to dance (celebrate).

There is a time to harvest. One of my new duties as President of IACP is to increase our membership above 3,000. I need your help in gathering/harvesting new members. If each IACP member would sign up just one additional member of their staff, or recruit one new member, our ranks would grow to more than 4,000. Just imagine the number if each IACP member would sign up each and every member of their staff. There is strength in numbers. Can you help?

There is a time to speak up. For the past twenty years, we have come to Washington, D.C. to lobby our elected officials on issues affecting our profession. This year, we need a record number of white coats storming the Hill. We need a record number of our membership lobbying for our profession and for our patients and prescribers. Our patients need access to professionally compounded preparations that we all provide. Their health and often their lives depend on it. Can I depend on you to attend Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) and especially, can I depend on you to Stay for Hill Day?

There is a time to heal, a time to rebuild and repair, and a time to work together. Now is the time for all compounders to come together to work for the benefit of our profession. Now is the time for us all to work together to improve patient safety. Now is the time for us all to work together to lobby our elected officials with one unified voice. Now is the time to heal our differences in our profession. Now is the time to rebuild physicians’ and patients’ trust in our honorable profession. Now is the time to repair our profession with a goal of utmost patient safety. Can I depend on you to help rebuild our profession?

There is a time to gather. The annual Compounders on Capitol Hill is June 1-4, 2013. This is a valuable time to network, a time to learn and earn C.E. credits, and a time to meet with our vendors. Can I count on you to attend?

Finally, there is a time to dance (celebrate). The 9th Annual Rx Mixer benefiting the IACP Foundation is being held on June 2nd during CCH. This year’s theme is “Sunday Night Fever.” This event helps fund the Foundation’s research and educational initiatives. Can I depend on you to attend? Put your dancing shoes on and your 70’s disco attire, and bring your best moves!
