Join IACP for the Upcoming LIVE Webinar on Pharmacy Advocacy!

IACP’s VP of Government Affairs Sarah Dodge-Palmer and IACP’s EVP & CEO David G. Miller, RPh will be presenting Being a Successful Advocate – Working with Your State and Federal Representatives on Thursday, May 16th at 1:00–2:00 p.m. CST (11:00 PT / 12:00 MT / 2:00 ET).

Prepare for Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) and play an active role in protecting your profession! In this one-hour webinar, hear from an expert about the tips and techniques to becoming a true grassroots advocate for your needs from an expert who lives and breathes compounding -- IACP’s own full-time D.C.-based lobbyist! In preparation for face-to-face visits with Congressional and Senatorial delegations at IACP’s Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH), or if you are participating in our new “Virtual Hill Day” by calling your representatives from your pharmacy, you’ll want to know the issues and initiatives of organized compounders. This year, with pending legislation affecting both human and veterinary compounding, every pharmacist and technician needs to prepare to talk with legislators about the impact new laws may have on business and professional practice.

The American College of Apothecaries (ACA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. ACA has accredited this program for 1.0 contact hours (0.1 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists and technicians. ACPE UAN 0201-9999-13-049-L04-P, 0201-9999-13-049-L04-T.

At the conclusion of this program, the pharmacist and technician attendee will be able to:
  • Describe the steps to establishing a long-term relationship with a legislator.
  • List four resources for contacting legislators to discuss pharmacy issues.
  • Explain the process for scheduling and conducting a face-to-face meeting with a legislator.
  • Explain how your Congressional involvement can help achieve positive results for compounders.
