IACP Foundation Seeks Grant Proposals
The IACP Foundation Research Committee is now seeking proposals for funding consideration. Proposals will be considered on a case-by-case basis and funding may be awarded in whole or in part. A maximum of $10,000 is available per proposal for research conducted at or in conjunction with an academic institution. The IACP Foundation has also set-aside funds to stimulate practice-based demonstration projects and compounding pharmacists are encouraged to apply for these $2,000 grants.
We will have two funding cycles to expand the number of ongoing research projects. We hope this will encourage more practitioners to consider and prepare a study for submission that helps demonstrate the art and science of compounding at the pharmacy level.
The Research Agenda for these two cycles include three topic areas:
- Beyond Use Date (BUD) -- expanded stability and beyond use date research for compounded preparations Funding innovative programs and research initiatives that enhance the quality, safety, responsiveness, and credibility of pharmacy compounding;
- Meta-Analysis -- produce literature evaluations of segments of pharmacy compounding (e.g., BHRT, autism, geriatrics, disease or patient populations)
- Clinical Applications -- practice based therapeutic studies on compounded preparations
The deadline for the second grant cycle is December 31, 2012. For more information on the grant proposal submission guidelines and for an application, download the 2012 Grant Program Packet here.
Thanks to all for making this Rx Mixer such a huge success!
