National Community Pharmacists Association Requests Support for TRICARE Mail Order Investigation

09/20/2012 -- The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has asked its members to take action in requesting Senator Jim Webb to support their efforts in seeking an investigation into TRICARE’s potential prescription mail order waste. Read on for more information on how you can take action.

Please Urge Senator Webb to Support an Investigation into Mail Order Prescription Waste in TRICARE
Please call Senator Webb at (202) 224-4024 and urge them to sign onto a letter to the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General regarding mail order waste in TRICARE.  The language of the letter is similar to a letter from a bipartisan group of legislators in the House.

At a time when Congress, DoD, and the Administration have continued pushing mail order use in TRICARE, the government has a responsibility to ensure it is not creating waste. This letter would request a study or audit to ensure DoD and TRICARE are not mailing too many prescriptions to patients who do not need them.  Urge Senator Webb to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars by requesting a study of TRICARE mail order waste.

Thank you for your action on this matter.
