IACP Hosts Congressman Schock Fundraiser
07/12/2012 -- Today on Thursday, July 12, 2012, the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) hosted a fundraiser for Representative Aaron Schock (R-IL) in Washington, D.C. Joining in were representatives from the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS). IACP President-Elect Wade Siefert, RPh, from Congressman Schock’s district flew out from Peoria, Ill. to participate. “Pharmacies are the health care heart of any neighborhood. You can walk into any drug store, talk with a pharmacist, and get help, recommendations and empathy. Congress should make it a priority to preserve pharmacies and pharmacists by keeping them free from over burdensome, onerous and costly government regulations and intervention.” Congressman Schock has supported pharmacy legislative efforts in the past and is a good friend of compounding. IACP and its colleague organizations raised $12,000 for Schock's re-election campaign.
