This one hour webinar will discuss the importance of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations, Current Good X Practices (CGXPs), and how they impact the compounding pharmaceuticals industry. Employees must be exposed to regulations prior to implementing correct procedures. Training impacts behavior which impacts quality. 

At the conclusion of this program, the pharmacist and technician attendee will be able to:

    • Describe the importance of the FDA.
    • List important historical events that have influenced the FDA.
    • Define adulterated products.
    • Identify 21CFR211 Subparts.
    • Define and identify the purpose of “CGXP”
    • Describe regulator sanctions including: 483, warning letters, consent decree, injunction, seizure, recall, and penalties.
    • Recognize the key requirements a compounding "Outsourcing Facility" must meet under section 503B of FDCA.

The American College of Apothecaries (ACA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
