Since IACP’s inception in 1991, the practice of pharmacy compounding has evolved from an endangered industry to a strong and steady presence in the pharmacy profession. In an effort to continue advancing the practice of pharmacy compounding, in early 2003, IACP established a non-profit 501(c)3 educational foundation. The IACP Foundation serves as the charitable extension of IACP and is used to conduct educational and scientific programming and research.
The IACP Foundation strives to escalate the positive impacts of compounding pharmacy through:
- Funding innovative programs and research initiatives that enhance the quality, safety, responsiveness, and credibility of compounding pharmacy;
- Encouraging curricular endorsement of the fundamental proficiencies essential to compounding pharmacists through alliances with educational institutions and accreditation bodies; and
- Sponsoring public education programs that aspire to acquaint health care professionals and the public with the services and issues related to pharmacy compounding.
IACP Foundation Mission
The Foundation's mission is to support the quality, integrity, and advancement of pharmacy compounding and its practitioners for the benefit of patients.
IACP Foundation Vision
The vision of the Foundation is to facilitate the advancement of patient care through pharmacy compounding. Through education and research, the Foundation will foster the pursuit of excellence in pharmacy compounding with the strategic use of its resources.
